What is the difference between an EU Blue Card and the Opportunity Card?

The EU Blue Card requires a signed employment contract with a minimum statutory salary (€45,300 for shortage roles or €50,700 for general roles in 2026). The Opportunity Card does not require a prior job offer and allows you to enter Germany for up to 1 year to find a qualified position.
