Do I need trade certificates to work construction in Europe?
Skilled trade roles generally expect vocational certificates or diplomas plus verifiable site years; general-labour roles emphasise fitness, safety compliance and supervision rather than formal trade papers. Sworn translation of certificates is commonly required at filing.
Which destinations hire most for this occupation?
Romania, Croatia, Germany, Poland and Slovenia all run construction-relevant intakes, but under different permit mechanics, quota, labour-market testing or shortage-linked routes. Confirm the destination pillar rather than assuming one permit fits all.
What about safety cards and language?
Site safety induction is universal; some sites require national safety cards or toolbox regimes. Supervisory communication is often in the local language, so basic site-language ability materially affects employability even where English suffices on paper.
